Welcome to our introduction in the use of Birkegaarden's biometric access systems. Our systems give access via fingerprints.

Remember that using fingers is a brand new way of gaining access and the user has to get used to it just as with everything new. Therefore you have to expect that it will take a while before you get accustomed to using the lock. In order not to be denied access, it is important to always place your finger steadily on the scanner and that the scanner glass and your finger are free from fat and dirt.

If you follow the approach below you should enjoy nice, easy and problem-free use of the lock every day.

Procedure for using fingerprints:

Press the PWR button to activate the scanner.

When the scanner is green, place your finger properly and press the scanner surface lightly.

When the scanner switches off, you can remove your finger.

If the system has recognised you as a user, the door will be opened and the green lamp will be lit.

If you are denied access: Most people can use a fingerprint lock, but there are people whose fingerprints cannot be read or to whom access is denied because it is cold and their fingers are cold and dry. To avoid this, you can warm up or moisten your finger with your breath before placing it on the scanner. It is also possible to scan your finger under several numbers. If you are denied access when there is direct sunlight falling onto the scanner, provide shade before use.

Fingers with cuts, wounds, injuries or worn out skin will probably be not recognised by the system. You should therefore use your backup finger. If you often have wounds, cuts or dry fingers, or you often encounter problems having your fingerprints read/recognised, we recommend that you purchase products with the latest technology, in order to get the best of using our products. Test the system at the store before proceeding with a purchase.
